Аннотация

Американская двухпартийная система испытывает значительные проблемы, связанные с тем, что большинство населения не видит в двух партиях политические институты, эффективно представляющие их интересы в органах власти. Соответственно, число сторонников этих двух партий значительно снизилось за последние два десятилетия, возросло число людей, меняющих партийную ориентацию от выборов к выборам, а основной группой избирателей стали люди, не причисляющие себя ни к одной партии, характеризующие себя как «независимые». Одновременно растёт поддержка идей создания «третьих партий» или многопартийной системы, сходной с европейскими партийными системами. Ряд исследований показывает возможность осуществления таких партийных реформ в США.
